Date: Tuesday 17 March 2026
Time:Â 12.00pm - 1.00pm AEDT
Access: Via the Inner Circle Resource Hub
Airway and oral function play a powerful role in sleep quality, yet many OTs are unaware of the early signs that a child’s sleep may be disrupted by breathing or structural issues.
When sleep is compromised, children can present with sensory concerns, emotional dysregulation and attention difficulties, leading therapists to chase surface-level behaviours rather than the root cause. Understanding airway health helps you recognise these patterns and support families with greater clarity.
This OT Masterclass invites Inner Circle members to explore how airway and oral function influence development, regulation and day to day participation. You’ll learn how to screen for airway concerns, interpret red flags and understand why sleep should be a foundational consideration in clinical reasoning.
We will cover the connections between breathing, tongue posture, oral muscles and sleep architecture, and how these elements shape behaviour, learning and wellbeing. You’ll gain guidance on referral pathways, collaborative practice and practical steps to support families when airway issues are suspected.
By knowing what to look for and how to respond, you’ll feel more confident identifying airway-related concerns and guiding children toward supports that create meaningful change, with a live Q&A to consolidate your learning.
What will you learn?
This session provides practical tools to help OTs identify airway and oral function concerns that impact sleep, behaviour and development. You will learn:
- How airway and oral function influence sleep, regulation and participation
- How to recognise screening signs and clinical red flags
- How breathing patterns, tongue posture and oral muscles affect wellbeing
- What to discuss with families and how to guide next steps
- How to map clear referral pathways and collaborate with relevant providers
- Practical steps for integrating airway-informed reasoning into OT practice
Why attend?
Join us to strengthen your clinical reasoning and walk away with skills that improve your ability to identify underlying contributors to children’s challenges.
Gain confidence, support families with clarity and build a practice that recognises sleep and airway health as essential foundations for childhood development.
Presenter: Claire Duque
Claire Duque is an Occupational Therapist and Myofunctional Therapist who specialises in identifying and treating airway and oral function concerns that impact sleep, behaviour and development in children.
After years of navigating her own child’s complex symptoms, Claire discovered the pivotal role of sleep-disordered breathing and airway structure in shaping regulation, immunity and sensory processing. This lived experience ignited her passion for early identification and intervention, leading her to transition from adult OT practice into dedicated work in paediatric airway, breathing and myofunctional therapy.
Claire now works at Airway Sleep Therapy supporting children with comprehensive assessment, oral muscle training, breathing retraining, tongue posture correction and preparation for orthodontic and surgical interventions. She collaborates closely with dentists, orthodontists, ENTs and allied health providers to ensure each child receives holistic, airway-centred care.
With a strong belief that sleep and breathing are the foundations of childhood health, Claire is committed to raising awareness among clinicians and families about the early signs of airway dysfunction. She delivers education that helps OTs recognise red flags, understand behavioural presentations linked to poor sleep and guide families toward supports that create meaningful change.
Through her clinical work and teaching, Claire empowers OTs to view regulation, attention and sensory challenges through an airway-informed lens, improving outcomes for children whose underlying needs often go unnoticed.

OT Masterclass &
NDISÂ Insight Sessions
Monthly OT Masterclass sessions provides targeted professional development across a broad range of OT practice. NDIS Insight sessions addresses challenges OTs are currently facing in the NDIS and nagivating new changes and updates.
A Supportive
OT Community
Working as a sole trader or being the only OT in your organisation can feel isolating. As an Inner Circle member, you’ll be part of a community of people
who share your challenges, interests and professional drive.
Service Agreement NDIS Template
Service agreements outline the terms of service between you as an OT and your client. This foundational NDIS template includes the responsibilities of both parties, payment terms, support details, complaint processes and termination procedures. It's customisable, so you can add your own branding and adjust specifics, such as travel charges or service duration, to fit your practice.
Â
Functional Assessment Templates
Functional assessments are critical for OTs in the NDIS space – but the NDIS doesn’t provide a standardised template. Our functional assessment template helps you structure your assessments to cover all the details the NDIS requires, from assessment tools to recommendations. We offer templates for all functional assessments, including SDA, SIL and ILO assessments.
Â
Schedule of Support NDIS Template
Used in conjunction with the Service Agreement, a schedule of support specifies the number of hours and costs involved in the services provided. This formal document is given to participants and family members to ensure they understand the investment required for the services.
Â
Report-Writing Guides
Many of our NDIS templates come with report-writing guides, perfect for anyone unfamiliar with or needing to refresh their knowledge of NDIS reporting requirements. The guides provide advice on how to complete each section of the template, ensuring your reports are thorough and compliant.
Â
Checklists and other resources
We've also created a range of checklists, services overviews plus gathered our favourite external resources in the one spot for members to access. Our inner circle resource hub also includes the A-Z of the NDIS, with individual 5-10minute video tutorials on a range of NDIS related topics to guide you through your NDIS OT journey.
Access personalised, weekly Q&A sessions with Sarah and your Inner Circle community
At our weekly Q&A sessions, Inner Circle members access personalised, weekly support in a group discussion that works like ongoing supervision.
If you encounter a challenge that’s holding you back – whether it’s a documentation issue, a client question or a change in NDIS policy – you can ask your questions at our Q&A session for a quick, expert response.
You won’t need to wait more than a week for answers, so you can continue providing your services without delay.
Â
Submit questions in advance
You don’t need to be present live to get your questions answered, either. Submit your queries beforehand, and they’ll be addressed during the session. Afterwards, you can watch the video recording, complete with timestamps to help you quickly locate the answers to your specific questions.
Â
Get real-time advice
If you’re able to join live, you can participate in discussions and ask additional questions on the spot. Along with guidance from experts, you’ll benefit from the collective insights of other OTs.Â
Â
BONUS: Q&A recordings
Access all previous recordings of Q&A to further your professional development. This includes access to Q&A sessions that occurred before you sign up as an Inner Circle member. Perfect for drives between clients or waiting for school pickup.
You know our OT Masterclass, but what about NDIS Insight sessions?

We confirm the specific content a few days prior to each session, so it’s always fresh, current and tailored to what’s happening now in the NDIS.
Â
Is this different to NDIS Deep Dive?Â
These sessions used to be called NDIS Deep Dive, exclusive to Inner Circle members. Topics were pre-determined months in advance with a focus on an area of the NDIS relevant to OTs.
However, as we know, the NDIS is constantly evolving. Our approach to these sessions has evolved with it!
To ensure we remain up to speed with all that is happening in the NDIS, NDIS Insight sessions have replaced NDIS Deep Dive sessions. They continue to occur monthly and will be recorded for Inner Circle members to access if you can't attend live or would like to revisit a topic.
