How is Assessment and Reporting Foundational Skills different from Navigating NDIS Functional Capacity Assessments?
This workshop provides the foundations skills for:
- Robust assessments with gathering of clinical evidence from a range of sources to assist in informing sound clinical recommendations.
- Developing clear, evidence-based reports aligned with NDIS expectations (beneficial for FCAs but not specific to this assessment as information is transferrable across all NDIS OT reports)
- Understanding how to interpret clinical findings and link them to participant goals and daily life
- Building confidence in clinical reasoning and report writing fundamentals for funding applications
Alternatively, Navigating NDIS Functional Capacity Assessments focuses on:
- Understanding the structure, timing and scope of functional capacity assessments within the NDIS framework
- Navigating the full assessment process – from referral and screening through to report finalisation
- Conducting FCAs using both standardised tools and informal methods (e.g. task analysis, observations, interviews)
- Analysing functional impact and justifying support needs using NDIA-aligned language, support descriptors and ratios
