MeetĀ Kate Patterson
Kate brings over 20 years of diverse clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist, working across Australia and the UK in acute hospitals, inpatient rehab, community settings and the medico-legal sector. For the past several years, she has focused on community-based practice, supporting NDIS participants with complex needs through functional assessments, housing solutions, assistive technology and home modifications. She has a particular interest in the interface between disability and housing, and is highly experienced in SDA and SIL assessments.
Kate’s supervision style is collaborative, practical and grounded in real-world experience. She is passionate about supporting early and mid-career OTs to build their clinical confidence, develop strong clinical reasoning and navigate the nuances of the NDIS. She enjoys helping OTs refine their assessment and report-writing skills, especially when working with complex clients or when trying to clearly justify the need for funded supports.

Kate is also an approved care needs assessor for icare and brings a deep understanding of both disability and compensation frameworks. This knowledge adds an extra dimension to her supervision, particularly for therapists working across multiple funding streams.
